A successful first edition for the TCCB Open!

From 22 to 30 August 2026, Tennis Club Collonge-Bellerive lived to the rhythm of the first TCCB Open. For nine days, competition, sunshine, good spirits and fine tennis came together on the club’s courts.

With 106 entries, including 99 men and 7 women, the tournament was a genuine success from the outset. Three draws were on offer: a Women’s draw, a Men’s N4/R4 draw and a Men’s R5/R9 draw.

The competition also attracted four N-ranked players, giving spectators some very high-level matches and a few particularly spectacular rallies. All of this with a total prize money of CHF 5,000, in keeping with this ambitious first edition.

Sunshine, spectacle and a great spirit

Throughout the week, the players enjoyed excellent conditions to show their best tennis. Matches followed one another in an atmosphere that was competitive, relaxed and respectful, with a crowd at courtside supporting the participants.

In the Women’s draw, Candice Mercadier defeated Thaïs Kurer. A huge well done to our TCCB coach and player, who wins this first edition on home soil! A particularly special victory, shared with members and the club’s young players who came to cheer her on.

In the Men’s R5/R9 draw, Nicolas Jouan, a TCCB member, took the title against Fred Caceres. Another home win that delighted the club’s crowd!

Finally, in the Men’s N4/R4 draw, Loïc Perret produced a superb week of tennis. Beating Dariush Pont, he won the tournament without dropping a single set. A remarkable standard of play, together with excellent humour and an exemplary attitude throughout the competition.

A first edition that calls for more

The success of this first edition already opens new prospects. Eight entries unfortunately had to be turned down because of ranking criteria, which leads us to consider creating an additional R7/R9 draw for a future edition.

After the finals, players, organisers, members and spectators gathered for an aperitif at the Open Café to close this fine week in a spirit of sharing.
